BIG NEWS. A residency opportunity which pays!

Bisque is a pilot residency programme to incubate the development of new work in the region for artists whose practice might struggle to find support from other existing models.

This one week residency is self-led for Yorkshire based artists working in experimental ways, within the realm of performativity or liveness but does not have to be a performing artist.

You get:

  • £1000 residency fee

  • £500 production budget

  • 5 days on site at CLAY in the performance space

  • A day of bespoke support from CLAY staff

  • A day of work with Technical support staff

You must:

  • Be Yorkshire based (born, raised or currently live in)- there is no accommodation covered in this project budget available but travel can be taken out of the production budget

  • Have a project that is concerned with liveness and is essentially experimental provokes ideas of social change for the public

  • Have a seed idea you are looking to develop

  • Have a public outcome (written/ digital or test performance) reflecting on the process

We are particularly interested in hearing from artists who identify as disabled and are of the Global Majority.

Applications close on the 10th of May 2024 at 10am
