Find Us

The venue is at 1-2 Regent Street LS27QA.

We are a short walk from Leeds Bus and Coach station, just 6mins away. CLAY is very close to Leeds Playhouse and East Street Arts.

If you are visiting from outside the city we are close to hotels and local transport. We strongly encourage visitors not to drive and use alternative more sustainable methods of Transport - we also do not have any onsite parking!

Look for the dark blue door way - thats us!

Access Information

We are committed to making our spaces open to as many people as we possibly can. Knowing what  facilities we have and what the journey around the space is like might make it easier for you to visit us. You can view a 360 tour of our venue here.

CLAY has a single step access to a single door that opens into the venue. The door is 32 inches wide. We have two ramps, a short metal ramp as well as a longer metal ramp with a wooden platform for the step, to accommodate for a variety of wheelchairs; front of house staff will put this out upon request.

We have 2 gender-neutral toilets that are down a flight of stairs that is 12 steps. Unfortunately, there is no lift in our building. The rest of the building is on one floor. Wherever possible, with our limited budgets, we hire in an accessible toilet (portaloo).

Access tickets available which to include include a Carer/Companion seat, you can purchase a regular ticket and let us know that your carer is coming too.

We do not currently have facilities for hearing loops, BSL or captioned performances, but all videos and films that we publicise as CLAY are captioned.

We always have a first aider on site at all our events.

Unless stated otherwise all performances here are relaxed so if you need to get up and move, stand, leave the space, go to the toilets or get some fresh air, you are welcome to do so.

We often programme performances and events outside of our venue and whenever the information is available to us, accessibility information for these events will accompany the events listing.

Content information is included on event listings so that you can make informed choices.

Access Support

The space and company is run a by a small team of largely Queer people.

Jess and Marie pictured here are often around. We might be the people at the box office and behind the bar, as well as a handful of occasional freelance front of house people who all share our ethos and are committed to upholding our code of conduct

If you have any worries or questions about any activity, or if you're just coming to an event by yourself, come and say hello!

If you have any questions or need any more information in advance of coming to see us please get in touch.
