2023 Round Up

WOW! What a year for us, and WHAT a year for Leeds. We’ve been catching up on some well deserved rest over the festive period and now we are taking stock.

We started the year welcoming our AD Jess back from a sabbatical then ran straight into the CHASM Development residencies which ran until April and ended in an Open Studios to spotlight what these artists had been working on.

We were on the move a bit too, taking our infamous DRYHUMP back to York as part of SLAP for the last time and traveling up to Buzzcut in Glasgow as a whole team. We had our first Board away day and did some really important consultancy and training on sustainability.

We delivered some amazing special projects like a Pride programme including a drag-wrestling-cabaret with CAMP, a POC Film event with Leeds Queer Film Festival and a space age Trans Pride event.

We had some good friends come over to Leeds from Mexico City to collaborate on delivering All That Live’s, presented by Ellie Harrison a Leeds 2023 signature event. This saw us deliver an astonishing programme of events and artworks ending in the Pity Party, on of our most ambitious and immersive parties to date.

We had Touring work from hometown glory: Excessive Human Collective’s Discopia and ended the year’s programme with High Steaks by ELOINA, a tender and beautiful piece about body image and bodily autonomy for women.

And. Breathe. Lets be having you then 2024…
