  • CLAY 1, 2 Regent St, Leeds LS2 7QA United Kingdom (map)

This workshop with Rowena Walmsley, Human Resources specialist (with experience from Leeds City Council & University of Leeds), will look at how freelance, sole trading and small artistic companies can engage other independent contractors legally and ethically. The aim is to come out of this with some resources for contracting.

With a focus on:

  • What a freelance contract or agreement could and should include

  • How to keep language straightforward and contracts readable

  • How they differ from an employment contracts

  • Ways of working with the same people legally

  • Other tips and protecting artists and their projects

  • This is event is wheelchair accessible. We have done what we can to make the space accessible by including a wheelchair friendly portaloo on the floor of the event space. We also have 2 gender-neutral toilets that are down a flight of stairs that is 12 steps. Unfortunately, there is no lift in our building. The rest of the building is on one floor. Unless stated this is a relaxed performance. If you need any more information please check our venue info page here.
